Energy and Water



Ministry of Urban Development and Land – MUDL in coordination with the implementing bodies have paved the path for implementing 24 projects in Water and Energy Sector.

The ministry as a cooperating body has the authority in the areas of, clearing the Land, consolidation of property rights, determining values, pricing lands and acquisition of properties.

The projects are consist of building Machal Gho Dam-Paktia, expanding Kajaki power Dam-Helmand, Sarband in Herat, areas of watering and development of Salma Dam-Herat, settlement of Shadyan Dam-Balkh, Shoraba Dam-Saripol, Char Toot Dam-Faryab and Dahla Dam in Kandahar.

Moreover,  the projects that are working in Energy, Electricity and water sector are;  Pozalech electricity station in Ghor, transmission of CASA 1000 line, 500 kv transmission line to Shabarghan, electricity line of Dasht Khawaja Alwan-Kabul, 220 kv line-Arghandi-Ghazni, Gas electricity production in Balkh, 500 kv transmission line- Aqina, 220 kv transmission lines Shabarghan, and Kabul respectively,  220 kv substation-Jalalabad, projects of  10 & 20 kv of solar energy-Naghlo, 220 kv substation- Kunar, distributive substation-Bamyan, 220 kv tramission lines of Arghandai-Ghazni and Ghazni-Kandahar respectively.

In this regard, 1776 jeribs (355.2 hectares) of state-owned land has been transferred to the applicant administration for the purpose of building substation. The Ministry of Urban Development and Land also has the responsibility of clearing, consolidation of property rights, pricing, determining value, affected families by the project and other parts of the regulation of land management issues of 814 km of TAPI project.
